[Clear, Descriptive Headline] v3
For SEO, make the headline specific enough that someone immediately knows who + what + where.
Good: New Bishop Ordained for the Genuine Orthodox Church in Nigeria
Less useful: A Joyous Occasion in Nigeria
Pretty headlines can go in social captions. Google needs nouns.
DELETE THIS ONCE HEADLINE SORTED.
On [date], clergy and faithful of [Church/Synod/Parish] gathered at [location] for [event].
[One or two sentences explaining what happened and why it was significant.]
Pic of whatever is going on
About [Event / Parish / Person / Institution]
This is your context section.
[Provide a short explanation of the parish, diocese, monastery, institution, bishop, publication, or event.]
[Explain any relevant history, role within the Church, geographical context, or background that helps an unfamiliar reader understand the story.]
Usually 2–4 paragraphs max.
For something like a documentary release, this might instead be:
About the Documentary
For an ordination:
About the Diocese
For an anniversary:
A Brief History of the Parish
Tailor the heading rather than forcing every article into identical language.
[What happened / Details]
This is the actual meat of the story.
For example:
The Ordination
[What took place, who served, who attended, what office the person was ordained to, etc.]
Or:
Celebrating 150 Years
[Description of the celebration, services, visitors, historical significance.]
Or:
A New Documentary
[What it covers, who produced it, where to watch it.]
Again, use meaningful headings. They’re good for readers and tell search engines what the page contains.
Quote / statement — optional
If there’s a worthwhile comment from the priest, bishop, institution, official announcement, etc., include it here.
Keep direct quotations reasonably short, and link back to the original source where possible.
No quote? Delete the whole section.
We are not inventing filler because Template Mary demanded seven headings. 😭
Why This Matters — optional
I would not put this on every little news story.
But it can be useful where context isn't obvious:
[Briefly explain the wider significance for the local Church, mission, theological education, parish growth, publishing work, etc.]
For example, an episcopal consecration in a developing mission might warrant context about Orthodox mission work in that region.
A parish picnic probably does not need an ecclesiological implications section. 😂
Learn More
This is where we turn every News post into part of the wider website.
Use 2–4 relevant internal links, e.g.:
Learn about True Orthodoxy →
Explore the Genuine Orthodox Church →
Browse Synods & Official Documents →
Read more Church News →
For a story about a document or video:
View the document in our Library →
Watch the related video →
This is going to matter a lot once the site grows.
Sources
I’d put this on basically every news item, particularly if you are reporting something you weren't physically present for.
Sources
This article was prepared using information published by [official Synod / parish / seminary / monastery / source].
Then:

That does two things beautifully: credibility + SEO provenance.
Only if necessary:

If you own the photo or it doesn't require a visible credit, remove it.
Then your Squarespace backend fields
